چکیده
Inelastic light scattering from Dirac-type electrons in graphene is shown to be dominated by the generation of the interband electronic modes which are odd in terms of time-inversion symmetry and belong to the irreducible representation A2 of the point group C6v of the honeycomb crystal. At high magnetic fields, these electron-hole excitations appear as peculiar n−→n+ inter-Landau-level modes with energies n=2 2n v / B and characteristically crossed polarization of in/out photons.

Spectral features due to inter-Landau-level transitions in the Raman spectrum of bilayer graphene
We investigate the contribution of the low-energy electronic excitations toward the Raman spectrum of bilayer graphene for the incoming photon energy 1 eV. Starting with the four-band tight-binding model, we derive an effective scattering amplitude that can be incorporated into the commonly used two-band approximation. Due to the influence of the high-energy bands, this effective scattering amp...
متن کاملMagneto-Raman scattering of graphene on graphite: electronic and phonon excitations.
Magneto-Raman-scattering experiments from the surface of graphite reveal novel features associated to purely electronic excitations which are observed in addition to phonon-mediated resonances. Graphene-like and graphite domains are identified through experiments with ∼1 μm spatial resolution performed in magnetic fields up to 32 T. Polarization resolved measurements emphasize the characterist...
متن کاملThe effect of doping Graphene Quantum Dots with K, B, N, and Cl on its emitted spectrum
In this work, the effect of doping Graphene Quantum Dots (GQDs) on their emission spectra has been studied. First, graphene has been deposited on SiC substrate by using sublimation method. Second, doped-GQDs have been distributed on the surface of graphene via drop casting. The structure of the samples have been studied and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy ...
متن کاملProbing strain-induced electronic structure change in graphene by Raman spectroscopy.
Two-phonon Raman scattering in graphitic materials provides a distinctive approach to probing the material's electronic structure through the spectroscopy of phonons. Here we report studies of Raman scattering of the two-dimensional mode of single-layer graphene under uniaxial stress and which implicates two types of modification of the low-energy electronic structure of graphene: a deformation...
متن کاملRaman Spectroscopy and Imaging of Graphene
Address correspondence to [email protected] ABSTRACT Graphene has many unique properties that make it an ideal material for fundamental studies as well as for potential applications. Here we review recent results on the Raman spectroscopy and imaging of graphene. We show that Raman spectroscopy and imaging can be used as a quick and unambiguous method to determine the number of graphene layers...
